I told him that there exists a generation of girls and women just like me who fell through the cracks— who always knew we were different, but couldn’t pinpoint how. We were dismissed as weird, anxious, rude, cold bitches. We’ve suffered in silence our whole lives.
I hear you - also valuable for invisible disabilities too. Whe fatigued, so hard to do basic things. Also sucks that pre-cut items = more expensive. Have tried a few meal services but the food wasn’t prepped, so it was kinda pointless. Went back to food shop deliveries after.
Cut and packaged fruit + veg like this may seem wasteful to you but they are invaluable to people with physical disabilities when cooking. Trust me, nobody wants me wielding a knife on a day when I'm extra tired. I want to live green, yes, but I want to live independently more.
Disability, access and accommodation need to be defined by disabled people, not nondisabled people.
How to sign “What traditonally happens in a nightclub will continue to happen in a nightclub” 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤣@rtenews @MichealMartinTD @HSELive

How is this even possible...?
the disheartening feeling when you ask a disability studies MA course if they offer remote study and they say no 🥲
Can we please get visibility onto this kind of learned behaviour and start calling out that being disabled is ok. Please retweet #WorldPatientSafetyDay
Medical staff:”How long have you been differently-abled?” Me:”Do you mean disabled?” Medical staff:”I don’t like that term. It’s too negative.” Nondisabled people don’t get to choose how disabled people identify themselves.

On #WorldSuicidePreventionDay we urge everyone to be kind to people with disabilities and recognize the challenges and disadvantages they experience - they are exposed to increased mental health risks and likelihood of suicide. #BeKind

Guest Blog* reflecting on LeDeR and Professional Care Workers week 1 – 4 September I am sitting here reading the latest LeDeR findings. Shocked that out of the 1191 deaths reported, only just over...

Access is more than a ramp. It is removing physical, communications, technological and attitudinal barriers that exclude disabled people, but also creating a culture of access. One where there is no exclusion and every one is welcome.
Even in the time of #COVID, is there anything you can do today to help a person with a disability in your community? #Wellbeing
Starting third level today at National Learning Network Dublin. I couldn’t be more proud. He couldn’t be more unfazed . 💚
Heartened to hear terms of reference for Oireachtas Committee on Disability being drawn up by Government. Fingers crossed this goes ahead - people with disabilities badly need a light shone on their daily challenges. #SaturdayThoughts
