Companies that want to create a podcast: Make it a video-first show. Don't make it audio-only. You used to be able to win with an audio-only podcast. Not true anymore (as of the last 12-months). Video shows have 10x the points of value and use cases than audio-only.
One of my goals when we work with a freelancer is to be their favorite client. Managing deliverables, invoices, cash flow, client comms, etc. is not easy. Paying freelancers immediately, deferring to their expertise, and telling them you appreciate their work goes a long way.
Being a guest on every podcast in your category gives the perception that you are the market leader, even if you are not. And perception is the only thing that matters.
Don't believe the marketing. There is no such thing as passive income. Everything you do will be hard, and have problems. Choose a business you have the energy to solve problems in forever.
Shout out to all of the founders who have taken the longer (and harder) path of bootstrapping their companies to a healthy growth rate and profitability. Very few people in this world are able to do what you've done. Just remember that.
Everything we have achieved to-date at @LemonpieFM and @HatchEdits can be attributed to: 1) Playing the long game. Being willing to break-even at certain points so we can invest in the long-term. 2) Putting in the work. We're willing to "do things that don't scale" to win.
PR has changed forever. The brands that are winning understand this. Example modern PR features you should be focused on getting: - Podcasts - Newsletters - YouTube - Influencers There's more opportunity than ever before to get in front of your buyers where they hang out.
Sounds good in theory: "Move fast and break things" 🚫🚫🚫 We've found more success in: "Go the extra mile (further than anyone else is willing to go), spend the extra time, and do it right." ✅✅✅
Always makes me happy giving "podcast" the attribution when I'm buying things online.

Our podcast (Brands That Podcast) has never had more than 300 downloads per episode, but it has contributed to millions of dollars of pipeline @LemonpieFM. Season 2 is launching soon, and we'll be sharing how we did it. Follow @LemonpieFM and @imjeremiahrizzo to get it.
The education that showed me what's possible: 2011 - @tferriss 4-Hour WorkWeek 2012 - @Jason and @AndrewWarner podcasts 2013 - @TropicalMBA and @robwalling podcasts 2015 - @garyvee's vlog 2016 -> Now - Learning on the job @LemonpieFM and @HatchEdits Total cost = about $15
My goal is to prepare my daughters to succeed in life, not to just be really good at taking tests in school. Other parents - what things should I add to the list to teach them?
Every single day, I overestimate what I can accomplish. You'd think I'd learn by now, but nope. It used to bother me, but I've now learned that people who overestimate what they can get done tend to be positive and optimistic in nature. So this is my gift/curse I guess.
