#HABAlert A small but intense bloom has developed on the west side of SF Bay. 05/15 and 05/22 are shown below. It appears to be much weaker on 0513/0514. It did not appear to intensify in the 0515 area in between. Fog obscured the NW part of south bay prior to 0522.
Update: USGS was out sampling yesterday. They reported moderate chlorophyll (11 ug:L) and nothing of particular interest from a water sample… DA has been increasing at SCW but decreased this week with a shift from diatoms to dinoflagellates.
