I urge every Scot to retweet this, regardless of politics. The Edinburgh Agreement does not contain the phrase "once in a generation." Lab and the Tories keep repeating this lie. They think all Scots are stupid enough to fall for their propaganda.
Unbelievable. After months of propaganda claiming Maduro is the head of the dangerous drug-smuggling cartel, the US government has admitted it was all a ruse in order to kidnap a sitting head of state.
Incredibly, the Wall Street Journal article about the attack on Venezuela doesn't even mention that the US killed 80 people, only noting that no Americans were killed. The lives of non-Americans are considered so worthless as to not even need mentioning.
Caught this on the big screen at the GFT late last year. Great movie. Well paced. Beautifully shot and acted. 8/10.
The film Palestine 36 is being targeted with coordinated 1-star ratings on IMDb. Show them support because they need it! You can watch Palestine 36 now on YouTube available to rent or buy. H/T: @abierkhatib
Dopey right wingers who learned the phrase "Monroe Doctrine" like ten seconds ago have been mindlessly parroting those words all day to defend Trump's Venezuela assault, and what's grating about it is they actually think they're talking about a real thing. They're like, "No no…
Frank Zappa on the biggest problem in the world.
Cracking montage, but it paints a depressing picture. The dereliction and erasure of working class Edinburgh continues apace.
Caught the 4K print earlier this year at the Glasgow Film Theatre. I had to put it next to Fanny & Alexander as the most beautiful film I've ever seen on the big screen. The 1975 series has been quite the joy, reminding me, fondly, of the Wrong Reel podcasts. Great stuff.
For my final 50th anniversary video of the year, I tackled Stanley Kubrick’s adaptation of ‘Barry Lyndon’ by William Thackeray. Creating this series of videos was some of the most fun I had on YouTube all year. 'Barry Lyndon' Review: youtube.com/watch?v=CLMyV_… 1975 Playlist:…
One of the great #FilmNoir classics is being screened on @TalkingPicsTV today, 1:05pm. Get ready for one of our favs, Broderick Crawford, starring in Phil Karlson’s Scandel Sheet (1952). Some excellent cinematography by Burnett Guffey + love the artwork for this one. #Noirvember
BREAKING: A new UN report finds that Israel’s assault on Gaza - with the destruction of health care, education, infrastructure, even the banking system - has erased 69 years of human development, marking the worst economic collapse ever recorded. This is not war: it is genocide.

"The most extraordinary filmmaker. One of the greatest alive." DIE MY LOVE producer Martin Scorsese, on director Lynne Ramsay.
DIE MY LOVE pierced me with the sharpest blade. Lynne Ramsay paints a vivid, intense, searing picture of raw emotional corporality. It’s not just a film about postnatal depression, it’s a portrait of genuine love left untended and abandoned. I left feeling hollow, but not empty.
The decision on independence has always and will always lie with the people of Scotland. The right to make that decision is what we are campaigning for and the wilful ignorance coupled with the outright attacks on those sacrificing time, energy, peace of mind and even health -…
Here's a comment from a reader "The comment any decision on independence ultimately rests with the people of Scotland, rather than self appointed groups like Liberation Scotland and Salvo, is an absolute slam dunk. Both of those groups have acted recklessly and arrogantly."
On the weekend before the 2014 Indyref the BBC broadcast a speech by Gordon Brown live across the UK. Brown used the platform to dupe Scottish voters into believing a No vote would lead to Scottish Home Rule. It was a lie. We have less power now than we had then.
Why are liberals defending the BBC? The BBC has a long history of perverting the truth. Ken Loach explains the history on a Miner’s strike panel with @georgegalloway
Secretary of War™ Pete Hegseth said during a speech on Friday that the US is at “a 1939 moment” of “mounting urgency” in which “enemies gather, threats grow,” adding, “We are not building for peacetime. We are pivoting the Pentagon and our industrial base to a wartime footing.”…
