The obvious solution here is for Zohran to bring back 10 Cent Beer Night, what could go wrong? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten-Cent_…
Once again, nobody is denying that ticket prices are already maximized. The point is that if you impose price controls on beer, that changes what the profit-maximizing ticket price is. This is not a hard question in any way or on any level.
The amount of time trump is spending on foreign policy/deals and literally legacy building is classic lame duck stuff
Feels like Trump’s lame duck era is here or coming on quickly.
Totally out of scale with the surrounding neighborhood, can’t believe they let this happen
A 1870 photograph highlighting the semi-rural surroundings of the Colosseum at the time
This lunatic aside, I feel the the Faction Wars often obscure the broader points that a "bigger tent" isn't as scary as some say. @liamkerr may be history's greatest monster but I imagine even he would be like "Trump immigration policies are bad" etc
In my AP English class in high school I sharply criticized Odysseus's decision to commit mass murder of annoying suitors (couldn't he have just told them to leave?) and then hang "his servants" (ie slaves) and the class yelled at me and told me to shut up
Repeating myself but while I don't know any of the details I find the mini-controversy over "The Odyssey" and accuracy interesting. History people are saying "boo, inaccurate cliched armor etc". Film people are saying "lol who cares, you're pedantic, art isn't about accuracy"...
I wish the Left could generalize this. If giving old people subsidies is bad, maybe giving 42M Americans "food stamps" in a country where obesity is an epidemic (esp among the poor) is also bad?
Yeah, it's like maybe Mamdani should nationalize Ticketmaster (full argument here: youtube.com/watch?v=AkKB8M…) but doing so wouldn't do much to affect the cost of living in NYC

You laughed when I bought Ticketmaster! [S07E24/3F21]
Beyond that, all this stuff about concert fees and arena concession pricing is weirdly marginal. We know that housing/transportation, health care, and energy are the major drivers of household costs — policy entrepreneurs should focus on big problems!
So this is why Ezra and @DKThomp wrote their annoying book. Is the key to pizza affordability a flurry of lawsuits to break up "Big Sbarro's" or would making a bunch of more pizza actually make pizza cheaper? Same with beer at Yankee Stadium
Lina Khan is quietly mapping out how New York’s incoming mayor Zohran Mamdani can use overlooked city and state laws to make daily life cheaper — from Yankee stadium beer to basic medicines, Semafor reports. People familiar with the transition say she’s identified a broad…
Different electorates of course, but my working theory is @RubenGallego driving around a big truck and shouting at people to go vote was key to this win. Also @YIMBY_Princeton biking around and shouting at people to go vote helped as well
NEW from @nytimes: The heavily Hispanic areas that shifted the most to the left in 2025 were virtually a mirror image of the places that had swung the farthest to the right in 2024. It suggests that Trump’s support among Hispanic voters last year may have been fleeting.
Idea for a podcast: @CartoonsHateHer and @KelseyTuoc discuss the theory of "How my ex-wife destroyed America and civilization"
“The real problem with America is my bitch ex-wife” is perhaps the most MAGA take ever created
Ron vs Vance will be epic
Imposing the death penalty for pedophiles is appropriate punishment and necessary to deter other offenders. Proud that Florida has led the way in rediscovering the need to put victims first.
In which @Graniteprof says simply:
Sen. Cory Booker gives a very clear answer when asked if New Hampshire should be the first-in-the-nation Democratic primary: “I want that tradition to continue. I think you all should be the first primary.”
Important things to focus on for Shapiro journalist (I'm looking at you @StephenSilver and @matthewkassel) 1. Josh's Thanksgiving spread 2. The guest list at his Seder, this is likely to get ugly, Israeli pols might try to gatecrash 3. Is a 20 point win in PA possible?
To every Pennsylvanian across our Commonwealth who has put on a uniform to serve our country: You are the very best of us, and we’ve got your back. 🇺🇸
At this point @MattGlassman312 needs to start a betting pool on the "GOP Jailbreak" vote, 5 bucks gets ya in, my bet is 87 GOP MoC's vote yes.
Breaking: Trump just said on AF1 that he and Epstein had a bad relationship for many years, 'but he also saw strength because I was president.'
#hottake: I feel like "The director of HHS is a basehead" should be a bigger news story
Just to get a sense of how off-kilter our politics has become. Just TODAY we have: * an expose revealing our HHS Sec "still uses psychedelics, and even smoked dimethyltryptamine." * a report that the Dept FBI Director wasn't given a background check * a report that Michael…
Think it’s weird that the peace candidate is starting a war with Venezuela for no reason and without even really a pretext — where’s the fake intel about WMDs and big UN speeches and whatnot?
This is Poison Ivy's apartment back when she was just Dr. Pamela Isley, a professor of botany at Gotham State (not to be confused with Gotham U), before she killed her girlfriend and went insane. Before everything became awful.
Great encapsulation of a major debate in contemporary "Congress Watching", what matters in being a leader, media skills or dumb boring things like "keeping your caucus together"?
