PSA for any frustrated and confused #iosdev folks: Looks like App Store Connect was updated to reject empty values for HealthKit Capabilities, which Xcode adds automatically when enabling HealthKit. Seems that just removing that value fixes the issue. See: developer.apple.com/forums/thread/…
Of all the APIs I expected updates for, UIPageControl was just about the last... but there it is! Continuous interaction (scrubbing), custom page indicator images, and background styles. Looks like this was probably related to the WidgetKit? #WWDC20 #iOSdev
If I was a part of the documentation and/or developer relations team at Apple, I think I'd make it a P1 moving forward that no new APIs show up with the always helpful "No overview available" -- and no, I don't mean by not documenting them at all 😅 Not like they lack resources.
There's lots of chatter about the new pasteboard notice in iOS 14, but I'm also interested to learn more about UIPasteboard.DetectionPattern and if that could help avoid that popup or better inform the user. Of course "No overview available" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ developer.apple.com/documentation/…
Reflecting on the announcements yesterday and I think the potential of the U1 chip is pretty huge, and Apple opening up access was completely overlooked in all the other hype. #WWDC20 #iOSdev
There's a new framework using the U1 called NearbyInteraction, and the sample code with the new simulator is super slick. You can move the simulators on screen and they "move" relative to each other and get updates.

Old-style API diffs for iOS 14 and macOS 11: codeworkshop.net/objc-diff/sdkd… Note that these are generated from the Objective-C headers so they do not include Swift-only APIs.

New Apple developer forums are launched... no way to browse really, and very weird, overly spacious layout does not impress me much at first glance. On the bright side, it seems the didn't nuke all the existing posts, which is pretty great. developer.apple.com/forums/
🧰 Apple introduced XCFrameworks at WWDC 2019 and we were excited to be able to offer an SDK for Mac Catalyst via this format. Today we’ll take a dive into what an XCFramework is, how to build one, and why we think they’re great for any library vendor. pspdfkit.com/blog/2020/supp…
I know ya'll are enjoying SwiftUI so here's a new post about UI hierarchy and navigation in UIKit 🤣iankeen.tech/2020/05/11/con…
It's always super interesting to look at a new project, and see how things are set up. The NHSX app is up on Github, and it's pretty clean! I want to share some things I like (and often do in apps I work on) and a few things I learned from a quick browse: #iosdev
🎉 Today we are extremely excited to open-source the Composable Architecture, a library for building Swift applications in a consistent and understandable way, with composition, testing, and ergonomics in mind. github.com/pointfreeco/sw… We can't wait to see what you build 😃

Oh wow – there are some really lovely new features for testing in Xcode 11.4. Great job, XCTest folks!
Xcode 11.4 Beta now supports: Modifying permissions with simctl Keychain manipulation via simctl Defaulted build parameters And more. Holy cow this is an incredible release. developer.apple.com/documentation/…
Love reading posts about navigation in iOS: coordinators, routers, presenters, and more. Some of these ideas are so cool! Then I remember we reached hundreds of millions of users with just -pushViewController:animated: Sometimes simple works.
So when did this get added to GCD? #swiftlang dispatchPrecondition lets you check which queue you're on/not on! E.g. on main queue: dispatchPrecondition(condition: DispatchPredicate.onQueue(DispatchQueue.main)) github.com/apple/swift-co…
