The Republican 10-year moratorium on state AI regulation won’t lead to an AI Golden Age. It will lead to a Dark Age for the environment, our children, and marginalized communities.
This is ridiculous. Any Republican (or Democrat) who sits on House E&C who cares about taking on Big Tech and AI companies should kill this provision of reconciliation.
The text appears to implement a 10-year "moratorium" on state "laws or regulation" regulating AI models, AI systems or automated decision systems This would be a win for many in the tech industry that don't want AI model regulation. Not clear if it can clear the parliamentarian
