I've greatly admired the work of @lisaaburman and @kjinquiry for years, so I'm beyond excited to get to present with both of them. The three of us think so similarly and often finish each other's sentences. Can't wait! events.humanitix.com/taking-an-inqu…

Writing conferences are your most powerful moments of the day because they are focused on the skills & strategies that a particular child needs. What better way to meet children where they are, in-person or online? PreK-3: Join @Mattglover123 on 3/13! hubs.ly/H0H1hw_0
Really excited to have the PYP team @MountScopus onboard @toddle_edu. Thank you @whatedsaid @Mr_Kuran @jocpyp for trusting us. We look forward to working with you to make Toddle better 😀

3 key elements of progressive ed.: 1) Deep understanding of ideas; constructing meaning supersedes skill practice & fact memoriz; 2) Kids' questions & decisions drive the curriculum; tchr does more asking than telling; 3) Cooperative learning (student collaboratn) as the default

3/3 ...& subsequent reanalyses cast even the NRP's weak findings of benefit into doubt. In sum, there are "few areas in psychology in which the research community so consistently [claims] a conclusion that is so at odds with available evidence" as the defense of teaching phonics
1/3 For anyone concerned with how reading is taught: A thorough examination of multiple metaanalyses finds "little or no evidence that [systematic phonics] is more effective than many of the most common alternative methods...including whole language": is.gd/AxlwAZ
