‘Apparently’. Here’s what the uncropped image looks like.
I don’t think it follows that you shouldn’t say Israel is committing genocide, especially if we add the premise that it is.
OK, game’s over. Right, I’m going to try one more time, very slowly: a) Jews are not responsible for Israel b) A dangerous radicalised minority think Jews are responsible for Israel c) Anyone (you, you’re learned Professor, anyone at all) who claims Israel is committing…
If you don’t want this to look like an anti democratic putsch, maybe don’t change the name to ‘Our party’?
EXCLUSIVE: A group of around two dozen grassroots organisers has launched a surprise bid to lead the new leftwing party, provisionally called Your Party, after a public spat broke out between co-founders Zarah Sultana and Jeremy Corbyn. The group, calling itself Our Party, is…
Charlie Kirk’s death is not important because his life had some extra special worth. It is important because someone murdered him (probably) just because they didn’t like what he had to say. You don’t have to think this is some great loss to humanity to understand that.
What if your baby never walks? What if they are never able to live independently? What if you could have stopped it… but chose not to? That’s the question @OrchidInc’s embryo screening forces. You optimize everything… career, diet, skincare… but you’re going to chance it on…
The worst kind of child sex offenders.
The fact that gay chiId sx offenders are able to legally purchase baby boys is a massive moral indictment on us all
Actually, perhaps the most valuable things about philosophy is convincing people who *think* they know the answers that they don't know. It stops people from doing harm with false certainty. Trains humility.
One time, a physicist I know dismissed the entire field of philosophy with one simple declaration, and I still love him for it. “If we can’t know, it doesn’t matter.”
On Thursday night, we heard that government was making big concessions on its planning bill, putting lots more controls on its nature recovery plans. I find this disappointing. And to explain why, I have to tell a story I’ve been holding off from sharing.
Rather than a referendum, I have a radical idea - how about political parties list their policies in some kind of document, a ‘manifesto’ say, then the party who wins implements those policies.
Offering votes to 16 year olds is a major constitutional change and should not be allowed without a referendum. How would Labour react if the Tories came to power and said you can only vote if you are over 50? 16 year olds should not be voting!
Is there any actual good argument why you should only be able to vote if you can stand and v.v. or is it just a pleasing symmetry?
Lowering the voting age is an attempt by Labour to rig the political system, but 20% of 16 and 17-year-olds said they would vote for Reform UK. Labour may not have the outcome they were looking for.
Votes at 16 is one of those issues where I kind of just don’t care either way tbh. Sure, what the hell.
Pretty stark reminder how some MPs think of state schools - no bright futures or opportunities there...
Thirteen thousand children, whose parents sacrificed everything for a brighter future. Thirteen thousand children with hopes dashed, with opportunities crushed. Thirteen thousand children, betrayed by policies that stifle their dreams. Thirteen thousand children who…
This is stupid. Look the map. A uniform swing like that isn't because of campaign messaging. This outcome was baked in long ago, and probably the only thing Harris herself could have done to improve it was "be a man."
The blame game has begun inside Harris world. Harris-Walz surrogate @lindyli, a member of the DNC National Finance Committee and PA commissioner tells me: - Tim Walz was a bad choice of running mate, Shapiro would have carried the blue wall states. Li: "People are wondering…
Just appalling. But you know what? This bloke will dust himself down and rebuild his business from the ashes. He has more drive, more passion, more spirit and more capacity for hard work than any of the low life racist scum that targeted him. We need him. They are parasites.
"Nothing left, Just ashes" - Supermarket owner Bashir tells how his shop was destroyed last night as rioting broke out in Sandy Row. Cars were burnt and businesses torched when an anti-immigration protest turned to chaos. @BelTel belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-…
Rawls fought bravely in the Second World War and by all accounts was a remarkably kind and fair man. Theory of Justice concludes with a call to develop purity of heart by acting with grace and self command towards others. Its hard to think of a much more noble sentiment or author
There are books I think are not only wrongheaded but dangerous, and yet I cannot help but love them. Descartes’ Meditations would be an example. But these two books I really just hate. There is some cleverness in them, but nothing noble.
I hold out a bold hope that one day, our finest minds in science, engineering and architecture will find a way of stacking dwellings on top of each other
This - there is a finite supply of land. That’s the problem and that’s what dictates prices as much as any of the other factors. This is why CPO reform is good.
I mean, how do you think voter’s minds work? “Oh I wasn’t sure who to pick until that guy got shot and then I decided based on the picture”. Ok why not elect the photographer
British political culture pillar 1: “we want working class kids to get to the top.” British political culture pillar 2: “let’s slam when they do! And especially their only means of getting there- the education they got through their own hard work.” Seems logical!
