today marks the 3 year anniversary of me leaving my non-tech job to pursue a career in tech. if you don't know me already: hi! i'm josh. i'm professionally an open source maintainer for rig, the leading AI agent framework in rust. i handle marketing, code, managing the team…

fyi vermintide 2 on steam is great for building up ur credentials for being cracked (definitely not just saying this because I am getting sick and tired of randoms 😭)

as much as I love you guys, please try to avoid doing this (or if you don't have time, please just tell the maintainer) i promise the maintainer won't be mad at you. it's also free to tell them you don't have time anymore or aren't interested

1. post “I want to work on this. please assign it to me” on a GH issue 2. disappear forever 3. ???

back to regularly scheduled shipping new rig release next week. be ready. it's a big one

only 36ish hours into having windows and i already need to install WSL because installing libssl-dev is arcane magic how the fuck do you guys do this lol

you can just do shit

1 year ago today, HelixDB started as a tiny idea and a GitHub repo. A year later we've gone through YC, raised, hired a team, got 3.4k GitHub stars and are now ACTUALLY building the fastest and most scalable graph-vector database. You can literally just do things!

i am now a windows user

here is your monthly reminder that rust is more than memory safety

chat, we getting laptops or desktops nowadays? i want to play some decent pc games without relying on gfn

truer words have never been spoken

If a founder spent their childhood: – Grinding ranked in any competitive game – Building random shit with a 3d printer or Raspberry Pi – Selling stuff online (anything from Pokemon cards to dropshipping) -Making Minecraft or roblox games Invest in them immediately.

met pavan at a meetup yesterday, he's taking the rust crush bootcamp with @FrancescoCiull4 watching his future with great interest!

Let's go Rust🦀

long poast incoming so let's take this back from first principles. being cracked is basically just being highly skilled at whatever it is you do so with that in mind: doing cracked shit is basically just doing something that requires or shows a relatively high level of…

What actually counts as cracked shit

For anything high-level Rust is basically Python. There's nothing "hard" about it.

My theory, the reason pple love rust isn’t because it’s that good. But because it’s soo difficult there’s this dopamine hit when you’re able to write code that works It’s kinda like the excitement that happens after doing something hard. Just that in this case it’s unnecessary.

We built an interactive experience that demonstrates how Encore works. Type code, explore commands, learn how infrastructure auto-provisions within your cloud - all in just 5 minutes. Free stickers included: encore.cloud/interactive 👀

ai memory framework but in rust (since rig doesn't have memory rn) y/n?

like i have always said: you want to be a cracked engineer, you need to do some cracked shit

if you want to apply for a job at a startup, make sure your skills align with what they need. if I had a penny for every time a react/frontend dev asked for an internship because they could 'learn rust' over a couple weekend projects before starting... id be rich

fyi for all my builders who ship fr and aren't just larping you should join @12daysofshipmas - every day you ship something new and talk about it for the first 12 days of December. can be a new feature, a new product, a new microsaas whatever it is, just ship

UK is cooked bro

and if you're not a graduate, you're screwed. if you're reading this and from the UK, work a remote job for the US. you'll also get paid more
