You have to type the code, bruh. AI typing it doesn't count. Use ai as a teacher, but you better be asking questions. And TYPE THE CODE

Ever realized how coding fades away faster than any other skill ?

If I use AI to learn a new language or concept, I always include " explain line by line, and tell me what every function does. Don't assume I know anything. " this makes it a better teacher, keeps me honest, and it's like studying a textbook tailor-made to your situation.

Also ctrl+Y and F2 and F10 and F 11 and F5 and ctrl+X and ctrl +V

Do we honestly think vibe coding is going to get better? Or has AI peaked? I was always under the impression that when AI learns from AI, only infinite entropy can result. And we're about all out of original content.

Vibe coding should never exceed the concept phase. Read your code.

Someone has to fix AIs mistakes

Is software development still worth learning in this era of Al?

If your app is a to- do list, go ahead and vibe it. If it's not, I recommend the "learn to code" approach

when starting a new app idea, should I: - vibe code completely to get mvp and then rebuild carefully from scratch or - vibe code with structure and planning to get launchable app in one go which one?

Coding is like laundry-- clean or dirty, but never done.

Doesn't have to. Full time job and 4 young kids, and I love to work on small games

Gamedev has an "I'm unemployed" vibe.

How we got from transistors to data storage to GPU and games still boggles my mind. I think about this daily.

Update: Using NetworkTransform and NetworkAnimator to make client syncing easier on hero movement! And now have enemy spawning/movement integrated in as well, but that's with manual RPCs to save bandwidth. #Unity

It's like a horrible dream. The way each scene is randomly another scene, and nothing is actually happening even though so much is happening.

AI games are going to be amazing (sound on)

The inner conflict is real

Converting a single-player game to multiplayer using Netcode for Gameobjects. Have to strip everything back to bare-bones, and rebuild one script at a time. Took a while, but I finally got movement to work across the network! #GameDev #Unity

No freakin way an LLM is recreating this without screwing up at least 1 thing. And when you point out that 1 thing (or probably more), it will bend over backwards screwing more up just to "Fix" it. And on we go. AI is not "I".

Games industry is scared. This spaghetti mess can be replaced by a single, local, fine-tuned LLM, and bring infinite more diversity to any game.

For how long I've been a programmer, and especially how long I've collaborated on Unity stuff, I can't believe I'm just understanding Tilemaps now. Granted I never really did 2d. But this stuff is awesome to work with. If you see this, share some of your best tilemap tips!#Unity
