It was a fairly close call come the end but the Airfix B-17 Mk III is the winner! I will be starting this kit at the end of this week all being well. I will post updates with the progress I make. Going to brush paint this one.

Nice bit of interaction with this tweet. All the replies and comments were correct. The AZ Models 109, the ‘witch’ was airbrushed. The Airfix 109, the ‘darker one’ was brush painted.

Hello all, long time no speak. I’ve finally finished my Airfix Bf109E-4 in 1/72! The scheme is from an AZ Model’s 109. Had a few issues along the way, a decal folding back on itself and becoming unsalvageable. Then right at the end of the build the antenna broke 😤

Really good to get some time back at the bench today. My daughter (10yrs old) got her first coat on the Spitfire she’s building. My 109 looks more like a 109 now! Both will be brushed. My 109 was going to be an entry to the JFF109 build, but I’ve missed the boat there!

Landing gear on, along with the rear wheel, propeller & some other little fiddly bits! Had to ‘modify’ the landing gear to make them fit 😬 Leave these to dry, touch up some paint work, fit the aerial then a couple of coats of matt and this one will be done. #JFF109

So I applied a Flory Models wash to my 109. Managed to scrape off some of the fuselage insignia decal whilst removing the wash. Literally a damp cotton bud done this, and it wasn’t even one of the decals I had an issue with previously 🤦🏻‍♂️ #JFF109
