Not having a lot of fun with network equipment lately. We just ordered a new switch and NAS for the project. We use a NAS for package build storage. Our 10G switch is locking up occasionally on us. A used replacement is somehow worse. :(
We've adopted the Contributor Covenant 3.0 Code of Conduct. midnightbsd.org/CODE_OF_CONDUC…
mport 2.7.3 is in current now. We also added a patch after this to fix an issue with mport.check-fake command. The latest package build for current has used this version. Still deciding if we will put this in the stable/3.2 branch or not.
We've fixed a few issues with mport add command in the mport git repo. It's not part of a MidnightBSD release or branch yet. (still testing)
We're currently doing a massive upgrade on mports. There could be quite a few ports that are broken short term. Part of this is to get things building on current. We are doing our first package build on 4.0. We're also trying to update xfce/gnome/cinnamon/mate
The latest package build had some key ports that failed. We're not able to publish it. On the plus side, 6807 passed. We've already fixed 30 ports. (222 failed, 995 didn't build, 75 were skipped for various reasons)
Just upgraded one of our servers to 512GB RAM. Hoping to use some memory disks for magus build nodes.
MidnightBSD 4.0 is now running on the second physical hardware now. Getting warmer... bsd-hardware.info/?probe=95f9e94…
Here's a retro photo of Midnight the cat from 15 years ago.

Current updates: LLVM 19 imported (from 18) libarchive 3.8.1 (from 3.7.7?) xz 5.8.1 (from 5.6.x)
4.0 current updates: less 578 unbound 1.23 netcat plus some bugfixes from FreeBSD.
Looks like a DDOS is happening against our systems. We're seeing a lot of activity from Singapore and Canada.
