Large merchants -> consumer incentives -> behavior change possible and seeing it personally too. As soon as you go to non reputed entities, bank payments are a hard pill for consumers to swallow without the clarity on protections, support and recourse.

A real world adaptation/evolution of card testing fraud to physical packages. Get billing-shipping match and name validation after first order and then switch shipping address from underneath for next order.
Had to change my credit card due to fraud (not on the cc but cloning an e-commerce account, sending one package to us with a strange name then a second package to a mail stop). Anyway - it is making me react to any “your payment failed” emails much more closely. So much spam
