Bloodlines 2 failed because bloodlines was lightning in a bottle; maybe the primary misunderstanding is that VtM isn't an adventure, it's a horror story - it's romantic like tuberculosis was romantic The real sequel to Bloodlines is EU5

this is actually an interesting situation: Cornell West, as a famous leftist, is in the cool kids’ club and thus a) cannot be affected by anything George does, relieving him of obligation to try b) is unimpeachably higher status than George, making George cooler by association

George's literal best friend + profit making touring buddy is a vocal anti-Semite. Spare me his moralizing bullshit.

hating the aristocracy in paradox games is natural because they are an obstacle to the relentless centralization of the state whether or not this makes you hate them irl says a good deal about your political orientations

It is an inevitability.

It isn't a debate It's an unfounded objection to elemental precepts of justice; it should be used to calibrate how the normal person responds to absurd and extraneous evocations of the concept It isn't

This is a very confusing essay. The authors acknowledge all of the problems with price controls! But they say it should be done anyway because "voters are demanding short-term price relief" Someone please check on HL Mencken

If you truly believe in international capitalism, a nation state trading partner running itself into the ground is a loss, not a win

If Americans are so sure that China’s state capitalism model is suboptimal over the long run, why exactly would they try to change it?Just let your main competitor run itself into the ground. Or are they being disingenuous about all this? Hmmmm? wsj.com/world/china/th…

Nuclear power has been set back decades because brain-dead hippies like Jane Fonda weren’t smart enough to tell a nuclear power plant apart from a nuclear bomb. People her age think Three Mile Island killed thousands of people when the actual death count was zero.

THAT’S IT? This is what 20 years’ worth of spent nuclear fuel looks like safely stored at the former Maine Yankee nuclear plant. The plant generated 119 billion kilowatt hours of reliable power from 1972-1996, which is enough to power half a million homes each year.

Trump tariff myths imploded by Friday's food/fertilizer tariff cuts: ❌Tariffs don't raise consumer prices ❌Foreigners pay tariffs ❌Tariffs are essential for solving legit national emergencies ❌Tariffs on production inputs won't hurt domestic output (or raise prices)

We’re going to solve kidney disease, but dialysis ballot measures will be with us in California for the next century.

Cool article on how new drugs (including GLP-1 agonists — what can’t they do?) have made huge progress on kidney disease, but one key part is that a lot of the progress is downstream of making clinical trials cheaper! Still a lot of juice in more innovation and reforms at FDA.

ICYMI: Looks like feds believe former @GavinNewsom chief Dana Williamson, while in office, influenced California’s contentious lawsuit against her former client Activision — and lied to the FBI about it politico.com/news/2025/11/1…

The higher your productivity of labor and capital the more asinine your competition for prestige and status

Early liberalism tried to give everyone the freedoms and privileges previously reserved for kings and the aristocracy. So in that sense it was also a kind of egalitarianism. Its just that once folks became more equal in those ways, they then found they wanted more ways.

I remember a time when Shane Smith ran Vice and they would write about things like unground raves in Czechoslovakian nuclear bunkers. Now it’s just a brochure for angry single women addicted to anti-depressants.

Managing his stress. Interpreting his moods. Holding his hand through feelings he won’t share with anyone else. All of it unpaid, unacknowledged, and often unreciprocated. Is it any wonder women are fed up?

Followup question Mr homan what if the Catholic Church handed you a sack labelled "money"

Tom Homan reacts to Catholic Bishops on immigration: "I'm saying it not only as the Border Czar, I'll say it as a Catholic, I think they need to spend time fixing the Catholic Church."

Whoa no kidding old people vote more than young people?!

Working on a unified theory of American polling I’m calling “Every Voter Is Seventy Now.” +21 on Social Security and –11 on “socialist”? Makes sense, you’re seventy. Care about food and service costs 10 points more than housing affordability? Of course you do, you’re seventy.

obamacare is probably the worst of all worlds policy in that it just means you pay a bunch of money for a service you don't use and then you still pay a bunch of money when you use the service

I *need* everyone over 35 to understand that a lot of young voters / first time voters DO NOT understand how important the ACA is or how transformative this law was.
