One day, me and my friends hit QA and Prod with Postman without needing M2M credentials for the last time, and nobody knew it.

ChatGPT just got confused and switched topics mid conversation to something totally unrelated from a separate chat thread I had the other day. I have mixed feelings about it remembering things long term now.
Be the kind of engineer that introduces a security vulnerability through a markdown file.
Hey! I’m doing research for a new product in the home services space. Have you had an HVAC, plumbing, or electrical issue in the past 12 months? I’d love to hear about your experience (how you found a pro, what was frustrating, what went well, what matters most to you). I'll keep…
Do you ever wonder why your frontend changes aren't updating only to realize you're not running your vite dev server?
I find @dhh to be such a likable person that I think I'm going to try Rails again soon... I had an unpleasant experience my first go-around, but in hindsight, that may have more to do with me bastardizing Rails to fit my prior patterns than the framework itself.
Has anyone encountered an issue with @tan_stack Router's automatic code splitting causing code in a route file to import from the entry point to your SPA (creating a circular reference)? I have this gnarly issue going on and am having a tough time getting to the bottom of it.
I love people that love people that hate people that hate people.
"You're right, I did completely make that up."

I think people don't realize that building something from scratch is the easiest part of a project. It's the long term maintenance spanning multiple teams, years, and business changes that's hard. When I see a complex design, the anxiety I have is around the latter.
For an orthonormal matrix, the inverse and transpose operations are the same. That fact is coming in really handy right now for a side project I'm working on.
I wish the X algorithm penalized blatant engagement farming. Definitely some regretted user minutes reading BS that doesn't matter on my timeline.
Layoffs are a failure on the company's part to run their business well. Why do we just accept this as normal? If I ran a company and had to lay people off, I'd feel like a failure and rightfully so. Stop working for companies that do this garbage behavior regularly...
rewrites the typescript compiler in go gets laid off 🤔

He's not wrong, you know. If you have high code coverage and you're still shipping bugs to prod all the time, the problem is YOU, not the code coverage. Stop sucking at your job and write good tests, lol.
I'm doing something weird in React, and it makes me wonder if there's a better pattern. Basically, I need a button click handler to be async, run a for loop that awaits multiple promises, and in-between each promise performs a state update. It's working, but if the component…
Academics stand on the shoulders of giants. The music industry stands on the shoulders of My Chemical Romance.
That's a great way of putting it. Every feature or dependency you add becomes another thing you have to maintain over the life of your product. Only build valuable features. You can't afford the liability of fluff.
this is going to be an amazing lesson over the next 10 years not everything needs ai all the time... every line of code and feature starts as a liability
People who really think all the jobs will go away with AI have absolutely no imagination When they invented the steam shovel we built the Panama Canal Could humans have made that engineering marvel by forcing everyone to excavate it with spoons?
I think it's likely that within most companies cost centers will shrink (because they can automate their work) and profit centers will grow (because they can generate more revenue). I also think it's likely we'll have many more small/solo companies.
What?? I never knew that!
Here's a fun TS tip: Use a template literal string to make sure your Authorization headers are correctly formatted.
