I bought gold in March 2022 when it was $1,900 / oz I wanted a physical hedge for my digital Bitcoin... But I always assumed I'd use my gold bars as paper weights one day. So it is absolutely insane to me that gold has outperformed Bitcoin by 25% since March 2022 despite gold…

I wanted a physical hedge for my digital Bitcoin...

But I always assumed I'd use my gold bars as paper weights one day.

It's snowing and I took my son to the local Christmas shop. He's just old enough to enjoy it now. Eyes were lighting up at everything. Bitcoin will come back soon enough, but these moments won't. Enjoy your weekend folks ❤️

Ignore the accounts that said there was no reason for being bearish in the past few weeks. Their mental models were incorrect. We will likely bounce at some point very soon as things have probably gotten a little exaggerated in the short term. But trying to time an exact…

They have already cut rates and it didn't bring the long end of the curve down. The Fed can only set the short term rate. They don't directly control the 10 year yield, for example. And unfortunately things like mortgages, business loans, etc. are based on those longer term…

I think we saw a blow off top in equities and risk assets broadly. The fact that I (traditionally a bitcoin maxi) was trading in and out of equities is a great clue that we were topping. My equity portfolio was literally going up 10-20% a day for weeks. It felt like Bitcoin…

It's possible that by the time this is all over the bullish narrative for Bitcoin will have nothing to with ETF's, nation state buying, or treasury companies. It will be about counter-party risk. I.e. protecting your money from financially and morally bankrupt institutions.

In 2022 I watched millions of dollars of buying power evaporate as Bitcoin plunged to $15K. It hurt. But it taught me an important lesson: If you put too much faith in things that are outside of your control, you're setting yourself up for pain. Sports, politics, financial…

OK release the virus. Lock them in their homes. Now turbo-print. Give them 100x leverage. Tell them it's safe to go outside but only to protest. Ok now raise rates and send it all to zero. Tell them they have to take a shot to keep their job. Offer them hamburgers.…

A fit body is more of a flex than any watch or car you could buy. You cannot buy a wide back with the swipe of a card. Sure Ozempic can make anyone less of a meatball, but it won't make them look physically capable. That requires hard effort and consistency over years. No…

Bitcoin is down 15% this year in Swiss Francs. This partially explains my bearishness. Dollar weakness disguised as financial gains aren't fooling me. Having said that, I'm done with bearish posts. I don't like focusing on negative / pessimistic things. It's lame. And at…

Unfortunately I've seen way more "this can't be the end because everyone is bearish" than I've seen legitimate bears who actually took profits. Everyone thought everyone else was too bearish and therefore nobody sold. Except the OG whales. Again. 🙃

Trump already tried the $2K tariff stimmy tweet. But his tweets are losing their stimulative effect. The Fed only steps in if the bond market goes tits up or a GSIB-sized body floats to the surface. Pain until then.

All assets unwinding btw, not just BTC. Something bigger afoot here. Markets are spooked. Or someone big needs liquidity. Longest yield curve inversion in recent history coming home to roost? Warren Buffett smiling this morning.

Last time Bitcoin knifed through the 50 week moving average to kick off a bear market it didn't see that price again for 2 years and two months. We just fell through this the 50 week moving average this week. Maybe this time will be different. But be mentally prepared in case…
