A few people have asked me about the titles of my novels on Amazon Kindle- they are 'Learning to Hug Again' and 'Friends in the Lakes'. Both set in the Derwentwater area and both can be read on any device via the Amazon cloud reader. Only £3 each! #KindleBooks #LakeDistrict
Well yes, that does look good, but even better is to come on my guided walk called 'A Thames Tribute'. From Tower Hill to St. Paul's, the Millenium Bridge and the south bank back to Tower Bridge. I'll be restarting these free walks every Saturday from January 2026. 😉
Well done mate, this is the right decision for you. I'm thrilled to see you're coming back for another go at the next Olympics- you're one of a kind, and I've no doubt you will excel in LA. ☺️
Just back from 4 days in Cromer, on the Norfolk coast, and was not so lucky with the weather this time. It pelted with rain+hail for about 48 hours non-stop, and when it wasn't raining it was threatening to! Also gale-force winds at times. Luckily, Norfolk soil drains fast. 😬
I'm taking a break from offering my regular London guided walk 'A Thames Tribute' until after Christmas now, but will restart them every Saturday in the New Year. If anyone needs to book a private tour for any day in Nov/Dec, just let me know. It can be arranged😉
Bloody hilarious! always watch at f/s with sound up. 😂
Cat: shocked. Dog: regret. Audience: happy 😭🎬
This was really very funny. Make sure you watch f/s with the sound up. 😆
Wow, I mean Wow! Make sure you see this at full screen! 😵💫

These are all so beautiful! 😊
This week's theme was London Nights 🌙 Take a look at the timeline over the last week for full details of these and the rest of the featured pieces.
Will be running this guided walk again this Saturday (8/11). It's full of spectacular views and surprises. Just meet me at the sundial above Tower Hill tube at 1.30pm. All welcome- no need to book- free of charge. 😉
Had a lovely walk around the Thames between St. Pauls and Tower Bridge today, with an extra visit to St. Katherine's Dock. Weather was like a sunny June day! I'm now running this walk every Saturday as the 'Thames Tribute' walk. Please see other posts.
I think it's delightful. I love its simplicity- in terms of size and layout, but also for the ease of renovation. Even with no experience, it wouldn't take much to put up a small ladder and learn how the gutters work, or how to fix the roof tiles or the chimney flashing! 😉
I stand here once a year and think it’s where I’d want to be if I had a breakdown. It sits snugly between a second hand bookshop, a sweetshop, a good boozer and the sea. All it needs is a tired woman with a quilt, hot water bottle and a playlist that’s predominantly Kate Bush.
This is the view west to Cromer. I've walked it many times. One morning, 2 brothers walked in front of me-I'd guess one 13 years old and the other 9. The older boy had his arm around the other's shoulder and kept it there for the entire walk. As charming as the place itself! 😉

Do you remember when you joined X? I do! #MyXAnniversary Apparently, it was my 5th Anniversary yesterday. I didn't go online yesterday, so I missed it! 🙄
I will be presenting this walk again this Saturday (1/11) and the weather is likely to be as shown below- breezy, some showers and sunny spells. As always, meet me at the sundial directly above Tower Hill tube at 1.30pm. 😉
Just a reminder that I'll be presenting the 'Thames Tribute' guided walk tomorrow (Sat 25th). Amazing vistas from St. Pauls to Millenium Bridge and South Bank to Tower Bridge and St. Katherine's Dock. Meet me at the sundial above Tower Hill tube at 1.30pm. 🙂
Yes, I was lucky to meet them on a Waverley sailing from Tower Hill to Southend about 20 years ago. A long queue had formed on Tower Pier at about 9am, and we were amazed to see the two of them join the queue behind. They insisted on waiting their turn to board. Lovely people! 😉
We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Prunella Scales. Prunella, alongside her late husband Timothy West, was a devoted supporter of Waverley throughout the ship’s preservation career and served as a Patron of the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society. Her warmth and…
