417 years ago today a gang led by Robert Catesby and including Guy Fawkes attempted to destroy parliament. In their memory the Conservative Party now attempt the same most weeks. #BonfireNight

I've added an end of year review on the blog. Feel free to read and comment! #running #runchat #ukrunchat thehighroadblog.co.uk/a-look-back-at…

An amazing performance on the fells, always astounded by achievements like this.

Congratulations to Sabrina Verjee on setting a new record by running all of #Cumbria's 214 #Wainwright peaks (covering 325 miles) in less than six days (with 11 minutes to spare!). bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan…

Is there a finisher T-shirt for 2020?

After a crazy 2020, I'm looking forward to the new year, new goals and more #running. I'm also looking at a few #10km races, assuming it will be safe enough to #race. #ukrunchat

This is definitely my favourite part of Scotland. I've driven past the battle site a few times and the history and scenery is always awesome.

On this day in history. Spanish marines and Jacobites lost the Battle of Glen Shiel on 10 June 1719, the culmination of an ill-fated incursion intended to divert government forces away from a planned invasion of southern Britain. More pics and info: undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/glenshiel/batt…

I have no idea how some of you #run in the morning before work! If I do a run or race in the morning, I'm usually too chilled or tired to tackle anything else afterwards #ukrunchat

It's a bit far away for me to travel to due to covid 19, but can't wait to visit places like this again.

A good explanation...

1/4 I keep hearing from people that because the local / roughly 5 miles guidance isn't mentioned in the law, people can legally ignore it if they wish. This is based on a misconception. The law says you must stay at home except with 'reasonable excuse' (which includes hiking)...
