Why is "while (true) break 3" a compile error in zig? The compiler should realize the else clause of the while is unreachable and ignore the type of it as a result. Similar to how a non-void function doesn't need a return if it contains an infinite loop (in most langs).
I get a ton of spam like this. It's insanely obvious how automated it is. "Your work on AI research company..." isn't even grammatical. And this dude probably _uses_ OpenAI models. Wow.
What are some things a regular person can access, which a billionaire can't buy a much better version of. So far I've got: - Seatbelts - Toothpaste - Cellphones - Social media websites - Weather apps
I asked ChatGPT who the most famous person in the world is. It guessed Cristiano Ronaldo. Never heard of him. I feel very American right now.
Post-AGI, there will be a niche group of humans who pursue knowledge by attempting to study and teach the discoveries of AI. They will never catch up to the AI, but it will be a fun and possibly dignified way to live.
if large math models work (it seems like they will, so far), its going to be strange to have a bunch of previously unsolved theorems proven while quite possibly having no human who can read the model-Lean-ese proofs to actually know how the proofs work
Deciding when to inline functions in a compiler seems like a perfect opportunity to apply RL, since current approaches are heuristic and seemingly half-assed attempts at hand-crafting a policy.
Alexa+ is nice, but it did hallucinate almost immediately.
SF ruined me because I assumed all these ads were for an AI search engine.
ChatGPT is quite decent at interpreting assembly / acting as a disassembler.
Before hiring a contractor, ask them how they keep track of how much you owe them and how much you've paid so far. The answer should be clear and simple (e.g. "I use a spreadsheet"). It should NOT be "I have a bunch of different versions of a doc in iCloud".
If the whole "put a fake bug in the urinal" thing works, why aren't there fake bugs in every urinal now that it's years later? Seems to me like nudge theory is either BS or impractical for various reasons?
I'm starting to believe that ExitStack() is a code smell.
