Modern warfare 2 mutliplayer maps are having noticeable z-fighting and popping. Feels like a downgrade in graphics overall compared to modern warfare

Finally have something to share about Ark, a VCS that aims to be an alternative to #perforce and #git, specially aimed at #gamedev. If you're also unhappy with current VCS state, please take a look at ark-vcs.com

Rendering 100k objects with dense geometry in a single draw call without instancing in ~3ms. Pipeline is GPU driven with LODs, frustum and meshlet culling. Once occlusion culling is done, number of draws can be significantly increased for this test case. Github link in Thread.

The way I've always done this is to have the original version and the new version, and then do a shader that does: vec4 main (...) { return abs(old_ver() - new_ver()); } If you can see any pixels, you screwed up :-)

I can't believe I've never implemented (or seen) this feature before 😳 🎇 Shader Refactoring Mode 🎇 Captures a reference image + GPU timings, then highlights visual and perf diffs upon shader changes. No more "😭 I accidentally broke something 2h ago" when refactoring 🥳

Fun trick you can do with Copilot: If you add add a comment `# The above function has a bug:` The completion will give you suggestions for potential bugs in your code

TSA asks you to annotate your code clang.llvm.org/docs/ThreadSaf… This allows you to detect wrong usage via compiler warnings; but it's also great because you start "documenting" your code.
