If you haven't seen it yet, @thebasemesh is a handy place for CC0 models. And you can drag and drop the zip files right into #VARTISTE to draw on them in VR!

Prototype "simplified" physics-heavy interface for #VARTISTE. Spin a color wheel that's really a wheel. Toss a brush around. Smack a lock closed to save the project. vartiste.xyz/?simplified=tr…

@dhmackenzie did foundational physics R&D on PhysX vs. ammo.js in @aframevr (along w/ @zach_geek) and pointed to "Speculative CCD" to make high-speed collisions work. Now our ticks are ~.2ms ⚡ And they're releasing their PhysX A-Frame system here! github.com/c-frame/physx

This is looking absolutely fantastic! Its come such a long way since your initial version. Amazing demonstration of what can be done with VR on the Web.

We had great help from the WebXR community like @AdaRoseCannon @noerihuisman @dhmackenzie @dmarcos @zach_geek & more - their work enables thousands of 3D creators like us (...I'll keep adding names to this credits sequence as I think back, sorry if you've been left off!)

I used #VARTISTE to make a #WebXR prototype of "Vampire Cornhole" for an upcoming Halloween party, and then actually built the thing out of wood:

Fixed some more #VARTISTE performance issues...look how smooth it is now, even when editing 4k textures!

I've been quietly releasing updates to #VARTISTE to fix regressions here and there. Since no one's reported them, I won't list them. However, I did manage to add a new feature: @CantBeFaraz's threejs ground-projected environments for hdris are now in #VARTISTE!

Handy little #VARTISTE update: You no longer need a server to add your own vartiste-extras. You can load them from a local directory now as long as it follows the same layout as gitlab.com/zach-geek/vart…

Quick #VARTISTE VR Doodle: Jazzman in the Moon skfb.ly/oxQIt

Added a kind-of "layers popup book" feature to #VARTISTE. Thanks to @pixelblip1 for the nudge to get this feature working!

Power-user type updates for #VARTISTE: auto-repeat cloning, adjustable default metal/roughness for shapes, and a Merge Geometry grouping tool mode.

Attempting some intricate ornamental VR woodcarving in #VARTISTE with some tools from @thebasemesh... Needs some practice, but surprisingly fun.

Fixed some of the VARTISTE bugs when using this. And found one of many handy uses for this tool: cleaning up the edges of a sloppy canvas-cutout.

I've added a new Boolean Tool to #VARTISTE, built around @garrettkjohnson's three-bvh-csg library. Give it a try; it's a lot of fun!
