#Mets have used 4 different 1B already in 2026. The guy they signed to play there - Jorge Polanco - has played there the least (2x) Mark Vientos - who we all know about his overall defense - has played there the most (13x) 3 of the 4 never played there pre-2026 .576 comb OPS
Well then! Did the blind squirrel stumble upon the nut, or is this the first day of their season? They had a nice offensive evening for sure/ Clay was fantastic, so were Tobias & Kimbrel. Still a long way, but hopefully this is the 1st step for the #Mets tonight.
It’s open for debate whether or not the #Mets should’ve walked Nico Hoerner, take that bat out of the equation and setup a double play. There’s a fair argument. But they’re bleeding out at this point - you can play the odds but if the next guy hits a fly ball, game over anyway.
