ALL learners of each race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and cognitive ability benefit from direct, explicit, multimodal, structured, sequential reading, writing, math, science, history, and civics instruction. #ScienceofTeaching #LiteracyIsEquity
Dyslexic children need very consistent instruction in Orton-Gillingham. Children who aren’t dyslexic don’t need that level of direct instruction. I took a year long training in Orton-Gillingham at the Schenck School in Atlanta.
EVERYTHING to ensure that each child in America can read at grade level proficiency standards by the end of third grade, because researchers now estimate that 95% of *ALL* kids can be by the end of *FIRST* grade, with Structured Literacy. #ScienceofReading #ScienceofTeaching
