In addition to the Happy 😁 #FossilFriday, proposing #PachycephalosaurAwarenessMonth. Two new pachycephalosaurs were described this month: an Early Late Cretaceous taxon, Zavacephale rinpoche from Mongolia & Late Cretaceous taxon, Brontotholus harmoni from the USA.
It's complete! Enzo the ichthyosaur is now fully on display in the Centre after being discovered just a year ago. A whole lot of work went into this one by Chris and Alex Moore, and Nic Reast and it looks fantastic! #FossilFriday

The extinction of Discoaster brouweri ~1.8 Ma marks the start of the Calabrian, and the start of the Irvingtonian in North America. Probably not coincidentally, multiple animal groups go extinct in that continent at this time. #FossilFriday

The neck vertebrae of Alamosaurus are BIG! This one from the Black Peaks Fm of @BigBendNPS shares at least one unique feature with verts of an even larger individual from the underlying Javelina Fm. My hand on the neural spine for scale. Displayed in @PerotMuseum. #FossilFriday
#FossilFriday Camp's Theropod, a mega metricanthosaurid. Specimen UCMP 32102 is a fragmentary theropod femur from the mid-Jurassic Chongqing Group in Sichuan, China. It had a femoral circumference comparable to that of the largest theropods.
A #FossilFriday throwback to when I was fortunate enough to see Zuul crurivastator on display! This ankylosaur lived 76 million years ago during the Cretaceous Period and was discovered in Montana, USA.

#FossilFriday 数年前に初公開されたエオティラヌス先輩。 当時は特別展のオマケ的な展示だったので図録にも載ってませんが、今回はしっかりと展示解説されてます。 この種の立体的に復元された頭骨標本はこれだけ(のはず😅)

Our 𝘓𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘰𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩𝘶𝘴 fossil got some TLC! The armored aetosaur roamed Texas during the Triassic, 227 & 237 million years ago. This fossil, found in Howard County, got a gentle dusting as part of a regular cleaning of specimens in the Paleontology Gallery. #FossilFriday
