#Day117 watched more of @Wondrium's #GreatCourses #HowtoProgram #Python course, not much but was going over the #GameDesign episode - as ever, as most of these days, I was holding a baby and getting him go sleep or keeping him asleep. Installed a Python IDE on my phone
Big thanks to everyone that made it out to the livestream tonight on @YouTube! I suspect half the audience was my own family, but that's okay too. Here's the link for those curious (still needs intro/outro trimmed): youtube.com/live/cuyn7Vl5b… #learntocode #howtoprogram #tutorial
Went home, unloaded boxes from storage, got 24hr donuts for my kids from @WinchellsDenver. Friday, uh, I think I read a couple pages about #Erlang and started the #HowtoProgram first video to be interested until I could fall asleep. Not going to count Friday as a Coding day, tho
Tried again to watch the #GreatCourses #HowToProgram ep20 on #algorithms, too much going on at home though. Also tried to read a bit of #Unix textbook and yhe #Fortran Coloring Book.
Speaking of which, yesterday I did also watch the first #GreatCourses "#IntrotoCpp: Programming Concepts and Applications," also by John Keyser who made #HowToProgram [ #CPP ]
Finally finished #GreatCourses #HowToProgram ep20 on #Algorithms, and was able to lay attention through the whole thing this time. No interruptions from my wonderful kids this time.
Oh, also, just now I rewatched the last third or so of #GreatCourses #HowToProgram ep21 on #Recursion, and then all of ep22, "Graphs and Trees" (in #DataStructures and the related #Algorithms). [ep23 played thru, but I was pseudo-coding the #GengClock, not paying attention.
-Just watched #GreatCourses #HowToProgram ep19, on #DataStructures The commands in #Python here make a lot of sense - pretty literate. This is definitely a #repeatedexposure thing, as, even though this is episode 19, other courses I've worked in cover Data Structures much sooner
Last night I also started typing up my follow through notes for Keyser's #Python #HowToProgram Game Design ep And the Software Tools books are by Kernighan & Plauger, not Thompson One arrived today, using #RatFor -Rational #Fortran. So I get to learn more languages!
2+h now I've been holding a sleeping baby, stepping thru #GreatCourses #HowToProgram @Wondrium ep13 "Game Design & Functions," writing the #pseudocode & #Python on index cards to practice #codereading prep to record #codewalkthrough maybe write it in #bash & #Cpp #designprocess
I rewatched #thegreatcourses #HowToProgram episode 15 twice today. I don't think it was difficult to grasp, I just kept getting distracted with baby. Hoping to recheck @ProgrammingHero for the #Cpp cert, & to finish the #algorithmcity sequel tonight at least.
After 20min of #Dasgupta, I'm now watching the final episode of the #GreatCourses "#HowToProgram: #ComputerScience Concepts and #Python exercises" course - Episode 24, "Parallel Programming is Here." This matches up w Dasgupta's last ch & several things in other recent sources.
