You clearly haven’t done #ParkRun. People regularly check where they came in there category when they’ve finished their run. Imagine how it feels to win or place high in your category. That’s something denied to women when men cheat by ‘identifying’ into the women’s category.
It’s cheating for a person born as a man to run as a woman. It’s also cheating to enter as 10 years younger than you are to get a better age grade. Or to run 4 laps instead of 5. But it’s unfair and impractical to expect #parkrun to police it. It’s not the Olympics.
Two distinct things can be true: 1. Women's sport must be protected. 2. Parkrun allows people to run with dogs/buggies. It's for everyone. It's not a competition. The suggestion that a trans runner is a threat to anyone's morning fun run is ludicrous. telegraph.co.uk/sport/2026/04/…

Day 539 wow what a #run one of my best in ages everything just seemed to click into place and just wanted to #run fast stopped at a 5k because of timing but felt like I could have kept the pace up for a lot longer hopefully I can do it again at #parkrun tomorrow #running

I'm sure these people have never been to #Parkrun! Everyone runs/jogs/walks together. There is no separate "race" it's a fun run and that's it.

I don't have too much to say about #Parkrun, except that I completely support the actions of @wsusportsunion. (Yeah, long post follows) I don't think much hangs on the slightly annoying 'is it a race?' question. Some people certainly treat it as a race and some people don't.
