Met a Sleep Country Canada employee this evening. Asked him how he felt about Fairfax acquiring them. His response: “Prem Watsa is an incredible guy. No layoffs or politics. They completely trust us. I’ve since bought many Fairfax shares.” That Fairfax magic in action! $FFH

Your post is good except you don't have to pay any tax on money you bring into the country. They wanted to start that last year but it's now on the back burner. As a digital nomad I understand you are taxed a low rate but the actual tax system here top rate is 35% on THB5m.

Dividends also smooth out return volatility compared to capital gains. There are studies on this, too lazy to link them but they're out there.

Let’s not forget that after a certain amount is invested, you can live entirely from dividends. The best way to be independent.

I'd argue that dividends are very much relevant, because you as an investor have emotions, and you can't get rid of your emotions, and the dividend makes the stock "feel" more real, which encourages you to hold long term.

Buffett is early, just as he was prior to the Dot Com bust. He was universally ridiculed for missing out on a market that was "different this time" because of the advent of the internet. Parallels between the mania of today and mania back then are uncanny.

Buffet knows nothing. He sold Apple way too early and the mist at least $50 billion in profits. "Far More Money Has Been Lost By Investors Preparing For Corrections, Than Has Been Lost In Corrections Themselves" - Peter Lynch. Buffet is one such example.
