BV study section canceled this morning. I’m absolutely devastated. My heart goes out to those who put so much effort into these applications and to the panel members who dedicated their time and energy to reviewing them. Hoping for a swift resolution!

It would be helpful if the @NIH could plan these study sections around the realities of being unable to post to the federal register rather than pretending like everything is perfectly normal and cancelling the meeting the day of.

Bacterial virulence study section was cancelled this morning. Sorry to all the great grants in the section, they were reviewed, and we were ready to go.

Appears the #NIH stopped listing meetings with the federal register. Will shortly start seeing cancelled study sections if the listings don't start back up soon.

It’s notable that the indirect cost edict came from our Acting NIH Director who spent his whole career on the NIH campus in Bethesda where he has no idea how much it cost to support the infrastructure for his research

1) Since there is a lot of confusion about the reduction of the overhead rate on NIH grants to 15% (see here: grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/n…) I'll do a little tweetorial (or X-torial?) about it.

This is a list of blockbuster drugs in 2024. Guess how many can trace their origins to NIH funded research? All of them.
