Fox News is going to run buck wild with the Chris Cuomo story...and they absolutely should. If the shoe were on the other foot, CNN would air breathless coverage about this inexcusable breach of journalistic ethics, especially if Fox didn't discipline the host at all.

This isn’t a defense of Cuomo, quite the contrary. It’s just to point out there are business calculations taking place that go beyond … *ethics in journalism.* One of these calculations is the *appearance of ethics in journalism,* which is the variable here (see full thread >>
Here to explain this to the outraged & angry: News media is a business. Cuomo just re-upped his contract for many millions per year. CNN ratings aren’t going down bc of this. They’ve invested in him; don’t want to pay him to go away & don’t have good replacement. So life goes on!
