Nature - Chronic alcohol use in humans and mice downregulates small intestinal mAChR4 and reduces goblet-cell-associated antigen passage formation, disrupting antimicrobial immunity.
✨Our work shows that mAChR4-regulated goblet cell–associated antigen passages (GAPs) act as sentinels of gut immunity in alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD). These findings identify mAChR4 and IL6ST agonists as promising therapeutic options in ALD.📷 rdcu.be/eBAAo
