Could you eat for the day on just 30p, if you had to spend your other £4.70 on public transport to a legal appointment? Or the doctors or supermarket? No one should have to choose between food and accessing vital services. Another amazing video from @VOICESNetworkUK ❤️
Humbling to have over 100,000 views of this film with Simon and Vongayi from @VOICESNetworkUK this week. There is support across parties for @scotgov to extend free bus travel to people seeking asylum. For such small change it will make a huge difference.
Great to meet up with @MichaelAdamson5 again today, this time sharing stories of how we use GIS and IM to support and enhance @BritishRedCross operations across the UK and beyond - check out how here medium.com/digital-and-in…

Excel calculated that 0.33 of a child visited a health clinic, and oddly enough, it wasn’t wrong…
Ultimately, Excel is a calculator — it cannot be wrong. Although it wasn’t exactly right either.
In the past 30 years more public inquiries have been chaired by men called Anthony or William, than by women. Brilliant graph from @instituteforgov. Stats are 1990-2019:
Ever made #surveys, but they weren't as useful as you hoped? Me too. 3 minute read here about the importance of asking the right questions, based on my learnings @BritishRedCross link.medium.com/sx1Rx9XxOeb

Asking the right questions
The more data we have from a survey, the more we will know, right? Not always.
We’re working with @AvivaUK to get financial help to people most in need right now. To mark its launch, the programme sponsor, Alex Fraser explains how the new Hardship Fund works 👉 bit.ly/2UQluTn
Refugees and people seeking asylum struggled on a daily allowance of £5 before, and with 26p more per day, barely anything has changed. Many still can’t get the bare essentials like milk, baby food, or hand sanitiser. It’s unacceptable. #WorldRefugeeDay
Tomorrow is our Sanctuary in Politics #RefugeeWeek event '#Imagine the potential of Wales as a true Nation of Sanctuary’ which has kindly been sponsored by @JGriffithsLab. We’re looking forward to the presentations and hearing from @JaneHutt.
Since #covid19 hit, along with others we have been calling for the £37.75 people in the asylum system receive to be increased. Today, the @ukhomeoffice announced a 26p per day increase. We don't think that's enough for people to meet their basic needs. #EveryRefugeeMatters
We know that there will be many migrants who want to take part in the ongoing protests. We’ve complied some guidance alongside @blkprotestlegal so that you know your rights. Don’t forget we have a free helpline for immigration advice too. Please share widely ⬇️⬇️⬇️

On #InternationalDayOfFamily we must remember #refugee and #asylumseeker families who are separated by borders, policies and #Covid19UK travel restrictions. @VOICESNetworkUK
Some of us have never been apart from our families for so long. Refugees know this feeling all too well. #InternationalDayOfFamilies
One of our VOICES ambassadors spoke with @AmnestyUK about what life was like in the UK without her children.
Today is #InternationalDayofFamilies - a poignant reminder that, due to unfair immigration rules in the UK, many are still being kept apart. If you're separated from a family member for whatever reason, we're sending you love and solidarity. ❤️ #FamiliesTogether
VOICES Ambassadors Ali and Shams recently spoke to @Independent about the heightened challenges of living on just £5 a day during lockdown. Much more needs to be done to support asylum seekers during this difficult time. #COVID19 independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-n…
