Since the @RCPhysicians will soon become the Royal College of Quacks, I have taken the honours to make you a new logo. I only ask for one thing and that is to refund all fees doctors have paid. You're welcome!

Forcing doctors to #BeKind and have toxic humility is that any old unqualified person thinks they can do our jobs, and it’s somehow rude to give deluded people a reality check It’s time to reassert that Medicine and the skills involved are neither easy nor achievable by everyone

There’s a fundamental truth that few are prepared to say Any medical student could walk into physio, pharmacy, nursing etc with their eyes shut The reciprocal is not true 🇬🇧 needs to work out if it wants the brightest to be their doctors? If you do, treat us better! 🤷‍♂️

The NMC will think nothing about this The NMC will do nothing about this Because there is NO REGULATION of 'advanced practice'

In a return to our race to the bottom series. What is this job? There is no such job as a registrar nurse. This is a nurse playing doctor and using a doctors role in their job title. I wonder what the NMC would think about this. Doctors are being replaced #AskForADoctor

Daughter’s friend waited hours in A&E for an earring stuck in her ear. They couldn’t help so referred her to ENT 5 days later. So she came to my pharmacy & in minutes, earring removed safely, pain gone without delays. Reduce pressure on #NHS. This is what pharmacy can do!

So this is a document written by two non-medical people, who’ve never undergone medical training or worked in a clinical capacity. For some reason they’ve re-invented the wheel by suggesting a speciality that already exists: Acute Medicine.

So doctors are legally obliged to reject a £15 box of chocolates from a patient as a “conflict of interest”… …but the bloke in charge of the ENTIRE BRITISH MEDICAL SYSTEM can take ~£400K from “private health sources” since coming into office… …and that’s totally okay???

Brilliant @wesstreeting A message to all medical students and Foundation Doctors You are some of the brightest and best in society. Start looking for roles outside of medicine today. Many companies would love to have you.

Today @wesstreeting has put junior doctors on notice that taxpayers’ cash will not fund more training posts if they continue to strike, in interview with Sunday Times @cazjwheeler READ: thetimes.com/article/afbe06…

As I said to you in the room, the labour government did not give 28%. About 12% of that was given by the tories via DDRB (iirc), and stating it like this ignores the catastrophic pay erosion doctors have experienced (~50%). In fact, doctors are still paid less than before the…

"The BMA should call off these needless strikes, come back to the table, and give negotiations a chance." Watch Health and Social Care Secretary @WesStreeting's statement on BMA resident doctors announcing more strikes.

I’ll bite. What knowledge does a day 1 ST4 have that a day 364 CT3 doesn’t have that means an ACP can’t work to the level of an ST4?

Yes I do. The ACP pathway is designed specifically to stop at an end point. There is too much other knowledge required (that medical school and other training gives you) that ACPs will simply never have.

So I sometimes take a break from X. You know why? It sometimes gets too hot. Not just for me, but for others who are assumed to be me. My email has been hacked. My 2FA has been attempted. Others have tried to link mobile nos. I am still here. Take a look at this. You fuckers.

I had the VP of AAA (@ukmat82) repeatedly ask me for my name today. He also repeatedly asked for another anon’s identity, & tried to dismiss anons for being anonymous. I want to draw attention to this post, where a senior consultant & TPD feels unsafe speaking out in the NHS 1/

There has been a lot of discussion re ACPs recently, with some defending that ACPs are qualified to act at ST3 level, I thought it’d be helpful to sample ACP courses. I chose two highly regarded unis (King’s, Edinburg) & then De Montfort to get a good breadth of representation 1/
