After decades of being pulled into the all-consuming orbit of the Postmodern Anti-Story, the zeitgeist started to shift.

We're beginning to find ourselves moving from cynical to aspirational, from irony to sincerity, and from despair to meaning.

The Pixies…

For decades, our culture incentivized “non-conformity” as the norm. This comic perfectly captures the fundamental problem with that message.

It’s always a good day for some whole-hearted, post-ironic Creed enjoyment.

From Jaguar to Cracker Barrel, logo and brand redesigns have stirred up strong reactions in the past year. But why? Is it possible that logos are spiritual? I talk with one of America's leading logo and brand experts @AllanPeters about this:

I ain’t reading that. Don’t care about your thesis about past eras of prosperity or nuanced perspective on building resilience or whatever. We live in the easiest time in history to build. You have a dream? You can manifest it into tangible reality like no one else before…

The most local level of change possible is every individual rejecting nihilism and cynicism and defiantly embracing hope. If you feel discouraged by our system, our politics, our culture, the very first place it changes is with you saying, "I will be hopeful and I will build."

Hope is a virtue. Refusing to be hopeful is choosing vice.

Did you know that the energy you invest in doom & gloom about culture could be redirected to changing it? Reclaim your agency in the world. You're not a spectator in a story that's happening TO you. You're an active participant in an unfolding drama. Grow something better.

Signs of the vibe shift in Gen Z continue. Reports from Canada of churches suddenly filled with young people. The line at the end of this clip perfectly sums up what’s going on.

If you think I'm making up this resurgence of the band Creed and its connection to metamodernism's "post-ironic sincerity", I'm not. It's like once you've beaten the final irony boss in the game, you level up to "embrace the cringe wholesomeness" youtube.com/shorts/Pr0KRfp…

One overlooked factor behind the Vibe Shift and Religious Renaissance: People born in the 80s-00s who were told that religion is an oppressive evil that makes your life worse realized that all their friends and family who just kept going to church were objectively happier.

A sight that would be unfathomable to the Greeks, Romans, Aztecs or any pre-Christian civilization: Erika Kirk extends forgiveness to her husband’s murderer and an entire arena of mourners erupts with a standing ovation.

Why do spikes in church attendance often happen after events that make us stare in the face of horrific evil? One reason is what I call the "Confronting Dracula Theory": We have long lived in the shadow of the "death of God" in the West. Day to day, we often treat "good and…
