I just saw a McAfee ad here in Twitter. I didn’t know they were still a company. 🤷
Needed flash drive for quick file transfer.... Grabbed something out of a drawer and plugged in. It wasn't a flash drive. Self pwn.
E2E IS privacy. The U.K. Gov is basically asking E2E services be weakened. This would place the U.K. in a very exclusive club of countries. None of which are aspirational for privacy & human rights. This is a fight infosec has to have. Don’t be quiet on this. Too much is at stake
Our position remains clear. We will not back down on providing private, safe communications. Today, we join with other encrypted messengers pushing back on the UK's flawed Online Safety Bill.

Oh ye who go about clicking “Accept” indiscriminately: Dost thou know the magnitude of thy actions before the Internet gods? Yea, verily, thou information shalt be shared with third party services Surely thou shalt repent of thy capricious choices
Read this and then read it again. There was a turning point a few years ago where centrally managed endpoints became *less* secure than independently operated ones. The centralized management infra lets attackers pivot from one compromised endpoint to *all of them*.
also they were EXTREMELY hard to hack because they were early adopters of Bring Your Own Computer (aka, had no centralized management).
Infosec should remember this sometimes.
We can neither confirm nor deny that.
. @solarwinds you’re kidding right? If you allowed an interns mistake to undermine your entire security posture, your security posture was flawed from the outset. You should be ashamed.
Current and former top executives at SolarWinds are blaming a company intern for a critical lapse in password security that apparently went undiagnosed for years. The password in question, "solarwinds123," was discovered in 2019 on the public internet. cnn.it/3pWdZqx
