Proudly representing Missouri's Sixth Congressional District

Senator Schumer’s senseless shutdown is finally coming to an end. Many Americans, including our air traffic controllers, members of our military, and many more, were held hostage for 43 days purely for political gain. I appreciate our air traffic controllers and other…

Our air traffic controllers work incredibly stressful jobs, that have been made far more difficult by not getting paid during the shutdown. They know how important and critical their jobs are. They take it very seriously and they deserve to be paid for it. It’s time to pass the…

I’m glad that common sense is starting to prevail in the Senate. Our air traffic controllers, military, Border Patrol agents and other essential workers have been going above and beyond, doing their jobs without pay. We need to get the government reopened immediately and end…

Big step forward for St. Joseph. Missouri’s $7.4 million grant is a major step toward bringing C-130Js to the 139th Airlift Wing. Thank you to the state and community for helping move this effort forward. I'll keep pushing for them in the defense bill - this is one more step to…

Air traffic controllers are being held hostage for political gain. It’s time for Chuck Schumer and his fellow liberal Senators to vote to reopen the government, so we can get America flying again.

The government needs to open and then we can negotiate. That’s how this works.

We agree with @SecDuffy that safety is and must be the top priority. The solution is simple: end the Schumer Shutdown.

I have done all I can to minimize disruption in the airspace. I’m trying to get people where they want to go and to get there safely. We are taking unprecedented action at @USDOT because we are in an unprecedented shutdown.

The FAA will begin reducing airspace capacity on Friday by 10% at 40 airports. As I’ve said all along, Sen. Schumer’s shutdown will cause delays. However, we will not compromise safety.

The Schumer shutdown is using our air traffic controllers as political pawns and there are going to be delays because of it. It needs to end now.

I have a history of passing common sense legislation at the Transportation Committee. The highway bill is Member-driven and will happen the same way.

Government does two things well: nothing and overreact. We should anticipate and allow for innovation. The next highway bill will do that.

My prayers are with those involved in last night's crash of UPS Flight 2976 in Louisville. The Transportation & Infrastructure Committee is in touch with FAA & NTSB. I caution against speculating about the accident’s cause & we will continue to await further updates from NTSB.

Great to join @JakeSherman from @PunchbowlNews this morning to discuss the highway bill and FEMA reform. Thanks to the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association @NRECANews for hosting our conversation.

Congress does two things very well. 1. Nothing 2. Overreact

The Senate needs to listen to the professionals at @NATCA and immediately pass the clean continuing resolution to reopen the government and pay our air traffic controllers.

As the Chairman of the Transportation Committee, I’m still working to get a long term highway bill ready to go. It's critical for the future of our nation's infrastructure. It was great to talk with @MariaBartiromo about my priorities.

It is safe to fly, but expect delays the longer this shutdown drags on. We won’t compromise on safety, but each and every day puts more and more stress on our air traffic controllers and their families. Senator Schumer needs to end this mess and support a clean bill to reopen…

I warned of this last week. Our air traffic controllers are now working without pay. We’ve got to get the government reopened. Sen. Schumer needs to quit blocking our funding bill now. foxnews.com/politics/fligh…
