Here's an old LinkedIn post of mine that had these "links swapped" probably by LinkedIn. And it's now generating ads revenue... for Bitly?? linkedin.com/posts/gergelyo… Just wild If this bitly going rogue? LinkedIn desperate for more revenue? Such a terrible experience

I've decided to resubscribe to this newsletter. While a lot of dev content isn't relevant to me, I need a no-hype pulse of the industry.

OpenAI has started to hire junior software engineers, and it's working great for them. This comes from me talking with Sulman Choudhry (Head of ChatGPT Engineering). They've started calling them "super juniors" b/c of their impact already More: newsletter.pragmaticengineer.com/p/san-francisc…

People without experience in how to validate their learning are going to suffer.

The challenge in learning using AI is very similar to the same learning issue from search. When we are given answers we think we learn, but we don’t. Learning is work. However, things like the “learning modes” from the AI providers help, as does using AI for tutoring not answers

I'm spending 40 days praying for the health and well-being of a political figure that makes my blood boil.

In the past few weeks, I've found loving my enemies to be harder for me than it's ever been. That is unfortunate and disturbing. podcastaddict.com/garden-city-ch…

I did a presentation 8 years ago on keeping up with technology. AI is changing enough of the social contract that I'm not sure it's still valid but there's a few gems in there. youtube.com/watch?v=OVd2wP…

Microsoft Copilot has added some interesting features, but I still struggle with the key problem: I cannot figure out any way to trigger GPT-5 Thinking Extended/Claude 4.5 Sonnet level responses No matter what I do, no deep thinking , no agentic actions, no document outputs, etc

Alright, my first time using an MCP server related to Power BI or Fabric. Let's see what it can do.

A huge fundamental risk exposure issue with VPN software is arbitrary remote code execution. Guess what an autoupdater is. Yes you can use open source stuff, but does your dad? You can make the risk calculation. But it's a big one if you're actually paranoid. Supply chain hm?

I rarely use a VPN except for work reasons. Why should I assume the VPN provider is more trustworthy than my local network? The list of shady VPN providers is long and storied.

Fabric Studio by @GBrueckl saved my butt this morning. I was able to lowercase all the tables and columns in a copy job in 30 minutes instead of manually doing it for 8 hours. Simply fantastic. #MicrosoftFabric
