This is just dumb and shows a failure to understand buyers. Assuming fans have a fixed total budget is a fallacy. If the stadium could charge more for tickets it would.
The simple thought experiment is to ask what happens to ticket prices if beer is free or just costs a nickel. No one will deny that ticket prices would rise at that point. So then they have to explain why it wouldn't rise if you cut them in half or whatever.
