After almost 5 years working on autonomy at @Tesla_AI, I've started a new chapter at @sundayrobotics. This place reminds me so much of the early days of FSD: working with some of the smartest people in the world on some of humanity's hardest problems (and having a blast while…
Thanks Eric! Always enjoyed your blogs :) Home robot is a certainly, the only question is when and how 🌻
big congrats to @tonyzzhao and @chichengcc , this is a big validation point that home robots like Memo and NEO are going to work and be useful for chores around the home. Really impressed by the team's execution here.
Thanks Soumith! I started my research career doing optimization-based 3D perception in PyTorch and have used it in all of my projects since! Looking forward to what you will do at Thinking Machines!
I'm so excited for @sundayrobotics . It's just so well-designed, the little details -- the pinky opening the dishwasher, the in-hand reordering of objects -- they're so good!!! congratulations to @tonyzzhao @chichengcc and the team.
Thanks Jason! Huge respect for what you have achieved at Dyna. Robotics is hard and we need to push the envelope on all fronts in order to put robots in homes and everywhere else🦾
The hard part of robotics *IS* robotics, and the Sunday guys just showed how far a thoughtful data-driven full-stack approach can go! Super impressive, congrats @tonyzzhao @chichengcc !
THE most cracked undergrad I have ever met! Now swimming in an abundance of data and compute
When training ACT-1, we treated data from diverse, long-horizon tasks in the wild as a first-class citizen. This makes generalization the default, not an exception. The capability envelope expands. More to come.
Come join us at Sunday robotics! For those who have a balance between being hardcore and human.
It started with @tonyzzhao and @chichengcc in their apartment in April 2024. We moved out of our hacker house in Mountain View in February of 2025 with 10 people. Today, we have over 30 team members. Velocity of progress to a real, useful robot is everything to us. The progress…
Was heads down in an M&A process (my fellow bankers know exactly what that is like 😉) when I had my first conversation with @brainstub . Everything about it felt different. A data engine built to scale. A robot demo that’s real (not stitched or hand-picked) A team that treats…
Leaving my stable job to take a bet on some 20-somethings in a garage wouldn’t be viewed by many people as the prudent choice. Those people haven’t met @clayhaight and @tonyzzhao. Thanks for letting me come along on the ride, guys. I’m humbled by your talents daily.

Kyle is the only reason we still don't have clamps on our robot 🫡
1. When I first visited the house in February, I was expecting a polished demo. There was an impressively generalizable shoe organizing policy, but struggled a bit and the robot itself was hacked and held together with clamps. But I walked away incredibly blown away...
Months ago I started my work trial at the Sunday house. It was a team of 8. I took meetings in Cheng’s bedroom and calls from the garage. These months have been among the most challenging, varied, and rewarding times. I feel grateful for a team audacious enough to try the seeming…

As a robotics researcher, I’ve always had the urge to learn the full stack: Control, SLAM, ML Infra, Web, Mobile, Cloud, CNC, PCB, Firmware, DataOps, Supply Chain ... But usually, I'm surrounded by people with similar skill set as me. Here, I sit across the desk from deep…

I always thought robots would be everywhere, but it wasn’t clear until @tonyzzhao and @chichengcc's transformative discoveries that actually showed the path forward. I am so grateful and proud to be a part of an amazing team to bring us just a little bit closer to that future

Thanks Bob! Means a lot to us coming from the OG roboticist 🫡
This was a very impressive demo, achieved at a fraction of the capital of other humanoid robot companies. Congrats on launching!
Sunday Robotics has a new way to train robots to do common household tasks. The startup plans to put its fully autonomous robots in homes next year. wired.com/story/memo-sun…
Very impressive. Great design language. Astro boy look. I like it.

Full-stack robotics FTW 🦾
I had the privilege of getting a sneak peek of Memo a few months ago. The co-designed infrastructure that allows robots to directly learn from human data is truly remarkable!
Introducing ACT-1: The frontier robot AI behind Memo. ACT-1 enables Memo to perform: 🎭 ⏰ Lengthy tasks like cleaning up after your dinner 🦾 Dexterous tasks such as folding socks ☕ Daily delights like making an espresso How does it work? 🧵
The man behind Memo's design! Co-evolving ML and HW specs with Shy's vision form the start is key for our functional and friendly design
It’s such a pleasure to bring Memo to life with an absolutely incredible team. The hardware team moved heaven and earth to squeeze so many capabilities into a design that’s simple yet functional
