Like seemingly everyone on this app I have plenty of opinions about Twitter > X and figure now is a good time to open up a bit about my experience at the company. I tweeted for years into the void for the love of it like many of you, but after selling my startup to Twitter in…
Great to see the @mixpanel story being shared. The team has been doing such strong work 💪

The image quality is nice but tbh I would buy the @opalcamera for the Dieter Rams vibes alone

I've now been asked multiple times for my take on Elon's offer for Twitter. So fine, this is what I think about that. I will assume the takeover succeeds, and he takes Twitter private. (I have little knowledge/insight into how actual takeover battles work or play out) (long 🧵)
Pretty cool to see a friend pop up on one of my fav podcasts. Very excited for this one!
My conversation with @garrytan about all things early stage investing Garry has a unique set of experiences and views on how this should be done and done well. I learned a lot. Enjoy! joincolossus.com/episodes/46775…

This is such a key piece of advice from the CTO of @Plaid about tech debt projects: know your pay-off time-horizon. It's not the same for every company
1/ Define a time-horizon where “long-term” projects will pay-off in terms of revenue or time saved across eng within X months of completion. For early stage companies X is probably 1-3 months and by the time you have >100 engineers you should start stretching it to 12+ months.

Who is creating @shreyas-level content focused on engineering leadership? So far I've found @jmwind to be really insightful. Would love to find others

Garry Tan is a moral canary in a coal mine. When people hate on Garry Tan, they out themselves as either evil or stupid, because in fact Garry is as close to a 100% good guy as you get.
What a powerful framing- “Humility is not a lack of confidence but an earned confidence.”
Ok I’m entertained. Would’ve been even more fun if the markets were open
Much is made lately of unrealized gains being a means of tax avoidance, so I propose selling 10% of my Tesla stock. Do you support this?

Managing up, looking good your boss, that is the classic way to get ahead Working for the people bottom up and helping those around you up is a different skill set than clawing your way to the top Power corrupts but it doesn’t have to if we consciously prefer/choose the helpers
Mike was an incredible light for everyone around him. Grateful for the time we had. And a reminder to express it more while we’re together. 💔
Have been beyond devastated today after hearing of @mkruz’s passing. Mike was such an amazing friend, mentor, manager and person. You will be missed buddy. Taken from us far too soon. 😭
