Liberal girls were most harmed by social media, says @JonHaidt. “It started on Tumblr in 2013.” “It’s the liberal girls who really rise first and fastest on depression…. Everyone is worse off, but being conservative seems to root you. You’re not as easily pushed into this crazy…

Do your humans use a set of standard steps when hiring or firing people? Congratulations, you're using algorithms to fire and fire humans. It's tragic that you idiots don't even know what an algorithm actually is.

Algorithms should not fire or hire humans. Parliament members are calling for a law that prevents tech from having too much of a role in decisions that affect human jobs. Learn more: link.europa.eu/WHKpjT

What could possibly have attracted an absolute nutjob conspiracy theorist to the Green Party? It’s an absolute mystery.

This is objectively not true and easily disproved. 10% of taxpayers pay 60% of the taxes. The problem is not at the top, but it’s unlikely you deal in facts or data.

We are a rich country and yet millions have a cost of living crisis Prices are too high, incomes are stagnant yet the rich get richer Time to stop kicking people lower down the social scale (like asylum seekers) whilst protecting the rich Our problems start at the top

Called it. (Unfortunately)

Stats track when millionaires leave the UK, but this is going to drive way more people out. Lots of people earning >£100k have moved. Soon it's going to be £50k. It's going to be a flood.

Yes, it's a terrorist organisation.

mr_james_c's tweet image. Yes, it's a terrorist organisation.

The fact a Palestine Action activist had attacked a police officer with a hammer was known. The fact that the officer’s back was fractured by this was not. Thinking of every single useful idiot, including certain MPs, who tried to claim this was a “non-violent” organisation.

"Best healthcare system in the world."

My son needs a dental operation. We have a private dentist (cannot get an NHS one) for regular visits and small procedures but they can’t do big operations. So we go with the public sector. I’ve just been on the phone and was told the waiting list is 1 to 2 years. Not months.…

A reminder we're in this mess because the UK has *deliberately* chosen systems that maximise the negative outcomes.

In 1996, when working on asylum policy at Amnesty, shadow home secretary Jack Straw commissioned me to write him a 'private' paper on reform of asylum appeals. I proposed a new, *non-judicial* appeal body. My proposal went nowhere. But, 29 years later, here we are. A short 🧵

If this is done right, it could be Labour's most powerful pro-growth policy reform. The key thing is making it watertight so councils opposing development can't find loopholes to still block (or delay) homes.

I promised we'd get Britain building and that's exactly what we're doing. We're giving the green light to well-connected built, high-quality homes near train stations. This is about action: spades in the ground and families finally getting the homes they need.

One of humanity's most disastrous propaganda efforts was the one created by anti-nuclear activists. Climate change would not exist as an issue if our electrical grids went nuclear as they were in the 1970s.

THAT’S IT? This is what 20 years’ worth of spent nuclear fuel looks like safely stored at the former Maine Yankee nuclear plant. The plant generated 119 billion kilowatt hours of reliable power from 1972-1996, which is enough to power half a million homes each year.

It also doesn't help us understand the economic impact. Are the people coming and going net contributors or net beneficiaries?

If large numbers of EU nationals and British nationals leave, it will pad the net-migration figures for a couple of years and hide the true scale of non-EU inward migration. Net-migration in isolation is a rather meaningless figure that doesn't truly reflect social change.

You can always rely on the Greens for laughably bad ideas. If we created an "NHS for nature" it would ultimately be ludicrously expensive while being harmful for nature in the same way the NHS is bad for the health of the people of Britain.

Huge numbers of young people are out of work - but this govt simply doesn't have the answers. We need real solutions like a National Nature Service which @GNDRising are calling for - to give young people good quality employment while restoring our natural world.

Well there you go.

The ONS also believes they have significantly underestimated emigration of British nationals, revising the figure from 77,000 to 257,000; meaning significantly more British people are leaving than previously thought.
