A winter bitch, but summer's in my blood. Dataflex programmer; weltschmerz collector. Hayek and Hobbes. 390 in dog years.
Shabana Mahmood dropping the F bomb in Parliament is a vibe. As a direct quote, it's allowed I believe, but even so. I love when politicians swear. 10 points to Labour.
I've got my NYT easy sudoku speed down consistently under 10 minutes now. Still a way to go before I match others who do it.
He says this, and good Lord he means it, but you can't escape the fact that #Pluribus is "inspired strongly by" Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Three Body Problem, and other properties. (Blood Music, anyone?) All art is derivative. AI is no different.
Tucked away in the #Pluribus credits, it reads, “This show was made by humans.” “I hate AI,” creator Vince Gilligan told Variety with a chuckle. “AI is the world’s most expensive and energy-intensive plagiarism machine. I think there’s a very high possibility that this is all a…
I'd rather free bus passes went to those aged 20-30, then to those aged 60-67. If you're not retired, then why should you get a bus pass when kids who can barely afford anywhere to live have to pay full whack.
A writer so successful that today is a day dedicated to him in schools all over the country thinks it is reasonable that he travels for free due to his age. People have to stop taking things they do not need, it is wrong and it is bankrupting our country.
Arguments against AI in art fascinate me. There's a belief that machines are allowed to do most any job, and that's fine, but artists are somehow sacred. I don't buy this at all. Art is just expensive Pareidolia, and its mechanisation will not reduce the beauty we find in it.
Frantically announcing and unannouncing every possible tax and levy, while looking through a pair of binoculars through Richard Hughes’ window at the OBR to see if he’s smiling or frowning at the Excel model on his laptop
🚨 I've now had it confirmed that Rachel Reeves has ditched plan to raise income tax rates in budget - as per @FT. Suggestion is that the politics of the move would've been too hard. Labour MPs had been deeply anxious about impact of breaking such a major manifesto promise -…
Depressing to see @UKLabour taking income tax rises off the table. We're back to scratting around the back of the tax sofa looking for revenue that (a) may need legislation, (b) may have unforseen side effects and (c) will undoubtedly only generate a fraction of what is needed.…
Remember. It doesn't count until someone has dug a hole and poured some concrete in it.
We are delivering for Wales. Wylfa on Anglesey will be home to the UK’s first small modular reactor nuclear power station. This will support 3,000 jobs and is the most significant investment for industries in North Wales in a generation.
