Education's ? 😂

RON DESANTIS: “Our state now has millions more residents than New York State does, and yet New York State's budget is more than twice the size of the budget of the state of Florida. Their roads aren't better than ours. Their education's not better than ours.”

What are some good ways to tell if someone is “actually smart”? - Harvard, Stanford, MIT degree - MAG7 internships - Got into YC as a teenager - IOI, IMO medalist - Advanced leetcode - GitHub contributions graphs These are obvious, but what are some others?

This thought has crossed my mind multiple times too because of the massive cost angle- but since there is a significant chance that I am the dumb one, I don't fight it OTOH humans have very long evolution behind them and computers are trying to emulate that in short term

Imagine learning to play a video game by looking at nothing but the final score. That's RL for you. Now imagine training a large reasoning model the same way - it's beyond wasteful. But that's what the "frontier labs" are pouring billions into.

This is a point that's often lost in the commotion

You're being played by people who want regulatory capture. They are scaring everyone with dubious studies so that open source models are regulated out of existence.

If Dave taught marketing at my Bschool - I might not have raged against it as much. 80% of my time in those classes was spent fighting with the professor 😆

By all means stop anything that hurts Americans. But in the process, don't lose the nuances and inadvertently hurt America. Also a way more important topic is what happens when automation takes away traditional roles

🚨I am introducing a bill to END the mass replacement of American workers by aggressively phasing out the H1B program. Big Tech, AI giants, hospitals, and industries across the board have abused the H-1B system to cut out our own people. Americans are the most talented people…

I recently received an email titled “An 18-year-old’s dilemma: Too late to contribute to AI?” Its author, who gave me permission to share this, is preparing for college. He is worried that by the time he graduates, AI will be so good there’s no meaningful work left for him to do…

If we truly believe in AGI, why would it need people to build on top? Wouldn't AI just keep evolving by itself to identify new opportunities and solve any problems? Where do people play a role in that?

Sam Altman says the most important skill in the future will not be building AI, but using AI to do amazing things Just as researchers don't need to build a computer from scratch to make AGI The future builders will create on top of AGI without needing to train neural networks

Curious what Trump's opinion is on the actual communist leader who is the mayor of Trivandrum 😆 When did this level of silliness become the norm?

America’s RICHEST — and GREATEST ENTREPRENEUR OF ALL TIME (in my opinion) — is an immigrant, you f***ing nut jobs. And he’s literally the one who gave you this platform to talk nonsense on. Talk about irony, @elonmusk

Terrible ... absolutely terrible advice

A computer won IMO gold. You need to stop putting your kids in math classes. If you care about their economic future, you need to enroll them in classes for something computers can’t do, like creative writing.
