Generating realistic #ProceduralTerrain by patching together tiles from existing #elevation data. Surely that would never work! 🥸 Our algorithm extracts #GradientField blocks, glues these together and reconstructs realistic height from that (see inset). doi.org/10.1145/301481…
Gradient tile-based #ProceduralTerrain generating a plausible landscape under tight constraint from a control pattern. Tiles are selected according to the slope required in each region. Each tile derives from actual terrain data, helping provide realism. dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/30…
