Los índices sobre campos #UUID se vuelven una pesadilla porque son tan dispersos que acabas teniendo que trepar el índice completo a memoria. También presenta problemas de amplificación de la escritura (basada en bloques). El uso de #UUIDv7 ayuda bastante con esos dos problemas.

I value #privacy and transparency. Two things might contradict to each other but a simple example is: A hacker comes into the server. all he sees is tables of #uuid and encrypted keys. Having those things are pointless. And the user can come and vet the data at any point..

Tackling a common Rails/DB headache: duplicate UUIDs! 🤯 You can't just apply a UNIQUE constraint if the data's messy. My fix? A script to generate fresh, valid UUIDs using SecureRandom.uuid & update safely. Clean data, happy database! #Rails #PostgreSQL #UUID #DBA #DevTips
