You missed out that Electron is a JavaScript wrapper, and JavaScript is a Chromium wrapper.

9/ electron can perform well. vscode is proof. with lazy loading, selective modules, efficient rendering and tight code, it gets close to native. but most apps don’t invest in these optimizations, so users feel the slowness.

8/ another factor: many web developers building electron apps don’t optimize code for performance. inefficient dom work, heavy libraries, unnecessary scripts and poor architecture stack on top of electron’s built-in overhead.

3/ electron uses chromium’s multi process model. every window spawns extra processes for rendering, gpu, sandboxing, etc. open discord + vscode and you’re basically running multiple full browsers at once. memory stacks fast.

compatibility, especially "electronjs" still not 100% compatible with Bun, you have to use nodejs

Electron apps are fully separate sandboxed applications, each with its own Chromium runtime, Node process, memory, and storage. They do not share anything automatically, even if multiple apps are open at the same time.

Actually I am using Electron and it runs nodejs which contains Python script. Not a recommended method from App store guidelines, but it was quick to build an MVP. that's why to submit to App store, i need to build in a sandbox environment.
