Hard not to see this call in the context of Africom Commander's visit to Ethiopia this week as well. Id like to think that there is some preventative diplomacy going on, but if I were to bet Id say that the call was limited to killing terrorists, ie Trump-era regional stability.

I think we are all waiting to see how Trump is personally involved in Sudan. The message that he isn’t sending deputies out to speak for him suggests that Boulos’ recent efforts in UAE were perhaps unsanctioned.
