Important context: Snow didn’t use this map to discover how cholera spread. He knew water was the source 5 whole years before he commissioned this map from cartographer Charles Cheffins. The map was used to convince authorities and the public collections.nlm.nih.gov/ext/cholera/PD…

Sometimes cartographers get concerned about the sheer volume of tools they should/could be using, and how it gets to the point where they feel like a new user with each and never an expert. I'm not going to disagree but remember u get points for "expert search-engine user"!

This is not a subtweet of anyone in particular and it's going to annoy some people since I have a lot of PhD followers/friends and also I'm a stubborn guy myself but...one thing I'm noticed is that once someone gets a PhD, it become 10x harder to convince them they're wrong.
