I needed to dynamically create a mesh given texture data and the gpu version was getting a little too complicated but I had a working gdscript version. The AI one-shotted the translation into godot cpp.


If you have a performance bottleneck in Godot gdscript, consider asking an AI to create a (cpp) gdextension version of the critical part. Works especially well when the problem is a big for-loop and you aren't adding nodes in the scene-tree in the loop.

Yes, I used to struggle with unity / game maker for years before a friend got me into #GODOT. Gdscript is nicer to work with. I started with a pixel action rpg now it's 2.5D It's also less cluttered with bloated side crap weighing your PC down. 10/10 won't go back


Just use godot with gdscript you will love it


mostly code (gdsfactory generates gds from python), my description, and occasionally raw gds with a bit parsing/formatting to make it easier to ingest (coordinates and numbers from the cells, polygons, transformations etc)

16/ i've bn working for almost a decade w/ gScript. immensely powerful. what can be done in 10-100 lines is off charts. i've bn able to build stuff w/ 20-30 pages of script at most. Their old IDE was more conducive than new. it would be far harder to teach than my other stuff.

GDScript is pretty great, to the point of where it sucked out the oxygen from godot 3’s visual script. But for some circumstances like working in unreal engine as a game designer who isn’t used to stuff like pointers, blueprints makes more sense

#Godotengine #GDScript#GDExtension でバイト配列に1千万回 push_back() した場合の処理時間を計測してみた。 結果は添付画像の通りで、#GDExtension の方が約20倍高速だったでござるぞ。 ちなみに C# は約10倍高速だったので、C++ の方が C# より約2倍高速ってことじゃな。;^p
