Same here, I did my #PhD in #GeometryProcessing. Nowadays, I'm doing #DataVis, #DimensionalityReduction, and of course #IllustratingMath.
One interesting claim I sometimes see about academia is that one is "locked in" to one's thesis topic post-PhD. For what it's worth this hasn't been my experience at all; I've moved between algebraic geometry, number theory, surface topology...
